After the surgery you may feel a great sense of loss of your bowel, this is normal.  However we can’t let the surgery define us.  Over time, as we recovered we began to revert back to our ‘normal’ lives.  There is a ‘grief’ for life before surgery and perhaps before an FAP diagnosis.  If you feel that this doesn’t become less consuming over time then please do seek out some talking therapy or support around this or contact us at PolyPeople.
